Shreveport National Night Out Registration
It is that time of the year again. Maybe by October 3rd, temperatures will be bearable enough that we can enjoy block parties again!
The Shreveport Police Department is asking residents and neighbors to join forces to celebrate “National Night Out” to band together against crime. The Shreveport Police Department is excited to participate in this highly successful event.
Police officials are excited to announce that they will be partnering with the City of Shreveport, Community Renewal, the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office, the Shreveport City Marshal’s Office, the Shreveport Fire Department, and the Louisiana State Police for the 2023 Shreveport National Night Out that will be held on October 3rd, 2023.
Neighbors are encouraged to get to know each other and their local law enforcement officials by registering to host their block party at shreveportla.gov
Last year, Shreveport was recognized for our participation in National Night Out 2022 being named a Top 10 winner for cities with populations of 100,000- 300,000. Shreveport received a plaque of recognition from the National Association of Town Watch for "Outstanding Participation in America's National Night Out Against Crime.
“To say I’m proud of the Shreveport Police Department and our community is an understatement,” said Mayor Tom Arceneaux. “We had more registered parties and better participation than we ever have had. I applaud the efforts SPD is taking to engage the community it serves and meet people where they are. This is a community that wants to be engaged and I can’t wait to see how we all come together for this year’s event.”
Last year Shreveport had more than 275 block parties across the city with more than 27,500 participants, which set a record for the highest number of participants ever recorded for the area.
