
Shreveport Police Take Guns Off the Street in Weekend Operation
Shreveport Police conducted a special operation in the Mooretown neighborhood after information was gathered during the recent Block by Block Initiative.
The operation netted some significant results for SPD in their effort to improve safety and reduce violent crime in the city.
As a result of this operation, officers made:
· 3 felony arrests
· 4 juveniles taken into custody on firearm-related offenses
Officers also seized 23 firearms and recovered two stolen vehicles.
The Shreveport Police were able to pull off this operation with the help of the Shreveport City Marshal's Office and members of the Violent Crime Abatement Team. The cooperation made this a successful operation.
Chief Wayne Smith had this to say:
“This boots-on-the-ground approach is continuing to yield positive results for our city and demonstrates the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies.”
