Forget the Smashburger: The Meatball Sub at Chop Shop is the Real MVP

If you follow the food scene in Shreveport even casually, you know the legend of the Chop Shop.

It wasn’t long ago that this local butcher shop went absolutely viral for what many foodies claim is the best burger in town. Between the signature ground beef sourced from local farmers and a seasoning blend that leaves zero room for debate, that smashburger has sat comfortably on the throne for a long time.

But I’m here to tell you: the king might have been dethroned.

I’ve recently discovered something at Chop Shop that is a serious concern for my health and my bank account. I am currently trying to find a way to justify consuming this for lunch and dinner every single day until the weekend. The problem? This meatball sub is one of those "fly-by-night" specials. They tease us with a masterpiece and then rip it away. Honestly, I will not stand for this behavior!

This sub eats like a Sunday supper at Grandma’s house. It is warm, saucy, and straight-up comfort in every single bite. Imagine those famous Chop Shop Persian meatballs piled high on authentic Leidenheimer French bread, then topped with a spicy garlic mayo that has just enough kick. Add a thick blanket of melty cheese and their scratch-made marinara, and you have the best sandwich of your life.

My advice? Throw self-control out the window. Order a "whole," and then hide the second half until your lunch partner leaves so there won’t be any judgment when you finish it off. This is, by far, the greatest creation to come out of the butcher shop.

I am officially ready to protest and riot if this doesn't become a menu staple. We refuse to accept this "abusive" relationship of temporary specials, Chop Shop! Give us the meatballs at least once a month. Please.
