
Shreveport Police Make Arrest in Connection to 2023 Shooting
The Shreveport Police Department arrested two suspects allegedly involved in a shooting incident that occurred on December 3, 2023.
SPD Patrol officers responded to a call at approximately noon when they were dispatched to the 2900 block of Fulton Street where they discovered a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was promptly transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. In the aftermath of the incident, members of the Shreveport Police Violent Crimes Unit initiated an investigation.
Following detailed investigative efforts, detectives identified and issued warrants for the arrest of 20-year-old Dario Lewis and 21-year-old DeMarcus Lewis. Both individuals were sought on charges including one count of attempted second-degree murder and one count of attempted armed robbery in connection with the incident.
In a coordinated operation in the early hours of April 11, members of the Shreveport Police Department's Special Response Team and Violent Crimes Unit successfully apprehended both suspects without incident.
Both Suspects have been transported to Shreveport City Jail and are charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder and one count of attempted armed robbery.
We are required to remind that all suspects are innocent until found guilty.
