Shreveport Woman Arrested in 2023 Domestic Violence Case
On October 21st, 2023, the Shreveport Police Department responded to a call reporting a domestic incident in the 100 block of East Egan Street. Upon arrival, officers found a victim suffering from a significant laceration to the arm. The victim was transported to a local area hospital and treated for the injury.
Following a thorough investigation by the Shreveport Police Domestic Violence Unit a suspect has been identified and warrants were issued for the arrest of 31-year-old Shakina Murphy.
On February the 15th, 2024 Murphy was taken into custody by the Shreveport Police warrants unit for her outstanding warrants charging her with one count of Home Invasion and two counts of Domestic Abuse Battery inflicting serious bodily injury.
Domestic violence is a serious issue, and the department remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents.
The Shreveport Police Department urges anyone who is a victim of domestic violence or knows someone who may be a victim to seek help immediately. There are resources available, including shelters and hotlines, to provide support and assistance.
