Police Holding Seatbelt Checkpoint in Southeast Shreveport

The Shreveport Police Department, in cooperation with the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, will conduct a Seatbelt Checkpoint.

The checkpoint will take place on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the southeast region of Shreveport.

The checkpoint will focus on drivers who are not in compliance with Louisiana’s occupant protection laws; however, enforcement activity will not be limited solely to seatbelt violations.

The goal of this enforcement effort is to increase seatbelt use and reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries resulting from crashes involving unrestrained motorists.
