The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit has arrested a former Police Chief on charges of First-Degree Rape and Sexual Battery.

The investigation began after the alleged victim reported the incidents to law enforcement. Because the reported offenses occurred within the jurisdiction of the Greenwood Police Department, the initial report was referred to that agency.

Due to 75 year-old Glen Mazier previous service as Chief of Police for the Greenwood Police Department and his current employment with the City of Greenwood, the case was assigned to the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit to ensure an impartial investigation.

During the investigation, CPSO worked in coordination with forensic interview specialists at the Gingerbread House Children's Advocacy Center in Shreveport. During the investigation, detectives developed probable cause and obtained a search warrant authorized by the Honorable Judge John Mosely.

Mazier was taken into custody without incident last week. He was transported to the Caddo Correctional Center, where he was booked on two counts of First-Degree Rape and five counts of Sexual Battery.
