Applications from the Caddo Sheriff's Office are now available for citizens living in the unincorporated areas of Caddo Parish who would like to close their streets for National Night Out block parties.

The applications are available at the sheriff's north and south substations or the Patrol Office at 4910 North Market Street, Shreveport. The applications must be completed and returned to the Sheriff's Office substation nearest the applicant’s residence no later than September 26. If approved, a copy of the application will serve as the citizen's permit to block portions of their street.

National Night Out will be celebrated in Caddo and Bossier parishes on October 3. Residents are encouraged to take a public stand against crime by participating in neighborhood gatherings and crime prevention events.

“It’s a great opportunity to meet your neighbors, show support for law enforcement, and learn what’s happening close to home,” said Sheriff Steve Prator. “Criminals can’t win if we are united in our approach to fight crime.”
