Shreveport’s Favorite Dive Announces Details on Annual Festival

Shreveport, at its core, is a music and arts community. We were home to the Louisiana Hayride, tons of incredible artists got their start in Shreveport...I mean, if you really look at it, it's pretty incredible some of the things that happened in Shreveport or were influenced by Shreveport artists. From the days of Lead Belly till now, there's a rich and powerful music and arts community locally.

These days, if you love live local music, dive bars and high quality food, then you've probably been to Bear's. Or, at the very least, have heard of them. Bear's, arguably one of Shreveport's most beloved dive bars, regularly features live music - mostly from local bands - and the burger specials (among other things) are top notch. You probably wouldn't expect to get a craft burger with high quality ingredients at a dive bar...but that is exactly what you get at Bear's. It may not be the best burger in town, but I'd definitely rank it in my top 5.

With all that said, if you haven't been to Bear's ever or just haven't swung by in a while, now might be a good time to stop in and check out what's new.

Bears Fest 2024

Now, with that said, Bear's throws a little shindig to celebrate the local music/arts community. I don't know exactly what year of Bears Fest we're up to, but the 2024 edition is going to be one of the biggest yet. Dozens of bands, DJs, arts, vendors, food, drinks, a silent disco...pretty much everything you can imagine - within reason.

Whether you're a long time Bear's customer or just want to support the local music and art scene, Bears Fest 2024 is definitely worth checking out. It all goes down at Bear's May 25th...pretty much all day and night.

Supporting Live Music in Shreveport

As much as I personally love Bear's, they are not the only place in town with live and local music. Every week, there are tons of places featuring live music. From Noble Savage Downtown to Tiki Bar to Hurricane Alley in Bossier to 2 Johns. The options are endless...and the great thing is each place has their own vibe. Not into dive bars? No worries, Hurricane Alley has full blown production. Looking for something a little more low key? 2 Johns may be what you're looking for.

There are hundreds of ways to support local businesses, bands, artists and more in Shreveport-Bossier. And you can find 99% of them on Facebook under events.

And that's all on top of the fantastic shows we regularly get at Municipal Auditorium, Brookshire Grocery Arena and other large venues around town.
