WSBT News, Twitter
The nearly week long hostage situation in Alabama involving a five-year-old boy has finally come to an end.
According to officials in Alabama, the boy has been recovered safely by officers. His kidnapper, Jimmy Lee Dykes, was killed, when authorities stormed his underground bunker.
The boy was taken from a school bus last week, when Dykes came aboard and demanded the driver give him two of the children. When the driver refused, Dykes fatally wounded him and took the child.
CNN is reporting that the boy, who has Asperger's syndrome and Attention Deficit Disorder, appeared to be alright, but was taken to the hospital.
