From Elvis to Hank to Johnny: Celebrating 65 Years of the Louisiana Hayride

From Elvis to Hank to Johnny: Celebrating 65 Years of the Louisiana Hayride is the Shreveport event for the Louisiana Soundtrack Experience Series' and will feature a free concert, film screening and panel discussion.  

All facets of this historic event will be held at the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium this Saturday, Feb. 23.  A panel discussion about Louisiana music featuring local music experts moderated by Oxford American music issue guest editor Alex Rawls is scheduled for 2 p.m. followed by a screening at 4 p.m. of Sunshine by the Stars, a made-for-TV film highlighting Louisiana music hosted by Harry Connick Jr. and produced by LPB.

Shreveport-based band Dirtfoot will open the concert which begins at 7 p.m. and will feature several Louisiana music legends including the Louisiana Hayride Band.

Admission is free and open to the public.
