FEMA Offering Financial Help for Eligible Hurricane Ida Survivors

We're now almost a week removed from Hurricane Ida, yet millions of Louisianians are still trying to get back on track. Of course, this is nothing new for our state and our people. Every few months, it seems we find ourselves right back in this unfortunate position.

Mother Nature sure does have a bone to pick with Louisiana. We receive her wrath seemingly on an endless basis, yet we keep coming back, better than ever. Maybe I'm biased, but I'm certain that Louisiana is the most resilient state. We're showing that famous resilience once again this week as we pick ourselves up off the mat following a devastating round against Hurricane Ida.

Luckily for Louisianians affected by the storm, they are not alone. For starters, our state always rallies together to help those in need. Also, organizations like FEMA are stepping in to help as well.

Currently FEMA is offering financial help to those who need it the most. They are helping those who are currently displaced following Hurricane Ida. Those who need water, food, first aid, transports, ect.

Currently, FEMA is gathering registrations for those who have been critically affected. Their help will come in the form of a $500 check for those who qualify. Currently, FEMA has given out over 130,000 of these critical assistance checks.

There are two ways to register. You can call FEMA at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), or register online at DisasterAssistance.gov. These are not loans and if you receive the check, you will not be expected to pay it back in any way whatsoever.
