Bossier City, LA (November, 10) - On Saturday, November 10th, MCG Woodworks will host its first annual Chili Cook – Off at Muddy Waters on Benton Rd. Several teams are coming together at 12:00am to compete for prizes and to raise funds and awareness for Veteran and First Responder PTS therapy programs. The competition is non-sanctioned and the winners will be chosen by people’s choice.
Statistics say that 22 veterans commit suicide everyday due to the strains of PTS. MCG Woodworks is proud to be dedicated to lowering this count by supporting groups like 22Kill who work with veterans and first responders to support them in their therapies.
22Kill Mission Statement: “To Create a community to combat suicide by empowering veterans, first responders, and their families through traditional and non-traditional therapies.”
According to MCG Woodworks founder and CEO Colonel Shayne McGinty: “If we can save just one veteran from losing their life to suicide it is worth everything.”
Proceeds will go toward supporting the mission of 22Kill.
Tickets for the Chili Cook-Off are still available, and can be purchased at the event, there is also still room for teams to join with a signup fee of $25.00. Prizes are being provided by MCG Woodworks, Home Depot, and patriotic families throughout the Ark-La-Tex.
