The music world suffered another loss as 2016 draws to a close with the death of George Michael Christmas day due to heart failure. Many stars are paying tribute, including Carrie Underwood, who revealed on Instagram that Michael had always been a major influence on her and that she cried when she saw him perform live.
I never told him (mainly because I thought I'd freak him out) but #georgemichael has always been such an influence on me. As a child, his was the first voice I could pick out of the sea of voices I heard on the radio. Before I knew anything about him, I knew his voice. As an adult, I cried when I saw him in concert. His songs and his voice helped to teach me how to sing. I will forever regret not letting him know...Thank you, George, for giving the world your gifts...may you rest in peace.
In lighter news, both Kelsea Ballerini and Kacey Musgraves announced they got engaged over Christmas and not to be out done, Ashley Monroe announced that she is expecting her first child with her hubby, Atlanta Braves pitcher John Danks.
According to Carrie Fisher’s mother, Debbie Reynolds, the actress famous for the role of Princess Leia in Star Wars, is now in stable condition after having a heart attack on a flight from London to LA over the Christmas holiday. CPR had to be administered for the duration of the flight.
