As we reported last week, one of our Barksdale B-52's made history at the big air show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin last night and country superstar Dierks Bentley, who was playing at the show, made sure to shout out several times to the "rainbow crew" and then met up with our Barksdale guys after the show!

A "rainbow crew" is a multi-squadron crew (each squadron wears a different color patch, so that's where the "rainbow" comes from).

It takes 5 people to fly a B-52 and the one that flew to Oshkosh this week featured members of the 93rd and 343rd reserve squadrons, and the 11th active duty squadron.

The B-52 on display at Oshkosh is a part of the 93d reserve squadron at Barksdale and because it was located very near the stage, the crew was able to watch Dierks' show from the wings of the B-52. So they were literally sitting on top of the Buff watching the concert. This must have caught Dierks' eye since he shouted them out from the stage.
