Ultimate Fighting Championship President Dana White fired back at actress Meryl Streep Sunday, after the Oscar winning actress, said that football and mixed martial arts "are not the arts."

Streep, who was in the midst of a tirade against President-Elect Donald Trump, was referred to as "an uppity 80-year-old" by White, who defended both the artistry and skill of the athletes who compete in both UFC and other mixed martial arts organizations.

White also took umbrage at the actress' remarks that his sport caters to the "uneducated." “I don’t expect an 80-year old woman to be a big fan of mixed martial arts and listen, everybody’s into whatever," Said the UFC boss, "I’m not a big fan of golf. It doesn’t mean people should stop watching it. If you don’t like it, change the channel.”
