Casino Gives Wrong Guy A $1 Million Jackpot But Let Him Keep It Anyway

Much like our casinos here in Shreveport-Bossier, the Horseshoe Casino in Cincinnati, Ohio is running some major promotions to encourage some late summer visitors to enjoy a night in their establishment.  One of those promotions was a summer give away for $1 Million and they held the drawing this past Saturday night.  Organizers drew the name and announced that Kevin Lewis had won!!!!

52-year-old Kevin L. Lewis of Cincinnati happened to be at the casino at the time.  ABC 9 television station says Kevin and his fiancée started screaming and ran up to the stage to claim the prize.

Kevin signed some papers, took some photos, and just like that, he was a millionaire!

There was only one problem.  Turns out, he was the wrong Kevin Lewis.  The real winner was 50-year-old Kevin Lewis, also from Cincinnati, who was home at the time.

But since both of them were in their early 50's and both were from Cincinnati, the casino didn't realize the mistake until after the initial announcement.

But a big KUDOS to Horseshoe Casino.  Even after they discovered the mistake, they did something well above and beyond greatness.  They let the first Kevin Lewis KEEP his $1 million . . . and they gave the second Kevin Lewis $1 million too.

And who says there ain't no free lunch!  Way to go Horseshoe!!!
