Caddo Parish District Attorney James Stewart has announced that his office will be seeking public input as they investigate the death of two men who allegedly died while in Shreveport Police custody. The announcement was made after the DA's office received incomplete information on the cases from the Shreveport Police Department.

In a release, the District Attorney's office says they received the "investigatory files" on the two deaths Friday, May 29th. The investigations were into the deaths of Tommie McGlothen and Wavey Austin, who both allegedly died while in custody of Shreveport Police. McGlothen died on April 5th, 2020, and Austin died on April 19th, 2020.

Caddo District Attorney James Stewart said in the release:

"Upon our initial review of the files, we have found that they are missing reports, statements, downloads and other vital information that is essential to conduct a thorough and complete review. The Shreveport Police Department is being notified as to what is missing and is being requested to provide this to our office expeditiously."

The District Attorney's Office has asked for anyone who has any video, eyewitness accounts, or any other information into either case, to contact their offices. Their number is (318) 226-5909.
