Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Deputy Shot Multiple Times in Benton
We have just received word from the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Department that an off-duty Bossier Sheriff's Office deputy has been shot multiple times by a family member in some type of domestic issue, at his residence in the 500 block of Old Plain Dealing Road in Benton.
About 5:20 pm, the deputy was airlifted by LifeAir Rescue for immediate medical attention.
The family member suspect is in custody and being questioned at the Bossier Sheriff's Office detectives' office.
Bossier Sheriff's Office detectives will lead the investigation, with support from the Benton Police Department. BSO Crime Scene Investigators are processing the scene, and BPD detectives are assisting.
Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington has been on scene and asks the public to please pray for the deputy to have a full recovery. When the deputy was airlifted to the hosptial, he was responsive.
His name and the latest on his condition are unavailable at this time, but we will release any and all information as we receive it.
