Don’t Throw it Away! Recycle Your Live Christmas Tree with Keep Bossier Beautiful
Tomorrow is the big day! Christmas is almost here, but after that you might find yourself wondering just what to do with that Christmas tree?

Well, if you are in Bossier Parish and that tree happens to be a real one, not artificial, you can help to Keep Bossier Beautiful and recycle that tree so that it can be turned into fish habitat in one of our many area lakes.
Pretty fascinating to think that same tree that lit up your living room for the last month could go on giving and provide an opportunity for fish in our local lakes to continue using it as somewhat of a home for months to come.
Beginning this Friday, December 26 and continuing through Friday, January 9, 2026, Keep Bossier Beautiful will be recycling live-cut trees to build fish habitats in local lakes.
If you'd like to take part and have your tree recycled, simply remove all the lights, tinsel and any decorations from it and take it to one of four convenient drop-off locations throughout Bossier Parish.
- Parks Road Boat Launch - to the left of the boat ramp
- North Bossier Park
- Tall Timbers - Tall Timbers Boulevard gravel parking lot on right
- Lake Catherine Boat Launch - Teague Parkway
- Mike Wood Park
- South Bossier Park - Take South Bossier Park Drive to the football fields, turn right and leave trees between flag pole and parking area
All drop off locations will be identified by a Tree Cycling sign.
