ACM Awards Winners And A Couple Thoughts
The 2012 Academy of Country Music Awards Show was held last night from Las Vegas and had it's share of highlights and actually left me with a couple of questions. One of those highlights was an actual wedding.
Christina Davidson and David Tucci met at a support group for young widows and widowers in 2009 and last night they exchanged their vows while Martina McBride and Pat Monahan (lead singer of Train) sang "Marry Me". Really beautiful moment...even from an old redneck guy's point of view. Now, on to my questions. If you were watching the show, maybe you had this same thought. Did Miranda Lambert go home last night and choke whomever helped her decide on that big old dress she wore? She's a beautiful lady, but looked to me like you could have hidden all of Old Mother Hubbard's children under that thing. The other question that hit me was "Just how tall is Taylor Swift?" She towered over Lionel Richie; in fact, made him look like somebody brought their little brother to the show. I did a little research on that one and come to find out, she's 5' 11" tall and she says that when she's wearing heels, she's well over 6 feet. By the way, according to Filmbug.com, Lionel Richie is 5'11" too...but that was probably a long time ago...before the old-age shrinking thing. Just sayin'! And here's that list of winners I promised you from the major categories:
