A delivery driver inadvertently damaged a gas line causing a leak at Pierre Bossier Mall Tuesday morning.

It happened at about 8:30 a.m. July 5. The Bossier City Police and Fire Departments were called to a crash that occurred at Pierre Bossier Mall in the 2900 Block Of E. Texas Street. According to reports, a delivery driver was backing into the loading dock behind J. C. Penney’s when the driver accidentally struck the side of the building causing damage to a structure protecting the main gas line going into the Mall.

The gas line was damaged causing a leak.

Emergency crews responded and evacuated the mall as a public safety precaution.

Center Point Energy is currently on scene repairing the gas line. The Pierre Bossier Mall will be shut down until the line is fixed.

Authorities say the repairs have been made and the mall is back open for business.
