Awesome Fishing! Four BASS Best 100 Lakes All In Louisiana

Truth be told, when it comes to bass fishing here in the Ark-la-tex, we are a little spoiled. And rightfully so!

We have proven again that the finest bass fishing in the entire United States is right here in our backyard, or lakefront as it were.

This time around, though we didn't land the #1 lake in the entire country, in this week's release of the 2022 Bassmaster 100 Best Bass Lakes in America, Texas was once again the nation's bass fishing powerhouse with three of the country's Top 10 Best Bass Lakes and a total of 11 lakes in the Top 100.  That means that over 10% of all the best bass fishing in America is in Texas; just staggering.

But the Bayou State also made another impressive showing this year with four North Louisiana lakes all showing up on the BASS radar!

In a press release from Bassmaster Magazine Editor-in Chief James Hall, we learn that this annual ranking takes a lot of work to compile.

“Creating the rankings takes more than two months as we dig through current tournament data as well as state fishery information on stocking efforts, catch rates and angler access.

 

“While the fisheries may change, our goal is to point anglers toward the most productive waters so that your time is spent with rod bent. These rankings provide a bucket list of destinations for anglers.”

Here's the listing of the Top Ten Best Bass Lakes of 2022 from Bassmaster.

1. St. Lawrence River (1000 Islands), New York
2. O.H. Ivie Lake, Texas
3. Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, California
4. Lake St. Clair, Michigan 
5. Fellsmere Reservoir/Stick Marsh/Kenansville Lake, Florida
6. Clear Lake, California
7. Lake Fork, Texas
8. Lake Erie/Upper Niagara River, New York
9. Sam Rayburn Reservoir, Texas
10. Santee Cooper Lakes (Marion/Moultrie), South Carolina
