I'm really writing this more for me, because I am a notorious procrastinator.

If you're like me, that procrastination could cost us this year as NYE creeps closer and closer. We're now just a couple of days away from one of the biggest celebratory Holidays of the year. It's one of my favorite Holidays, as a true Louisianian, because we'll party for any and every reason, so when we have a real reason to let the good times roll, we go all out.

If your NYE plans revolve around going all out at the fireworks stand, you may be running out of time if you haven't purchased those explosive goodies yet. Like most businesses across our state, the firework industry was also hit by severe supply shortages. So for most firework stands in the Shreveport-Bossier area, when they run out, they run out.

Jaise Templet, who owns a Louisiana fireworks stand, says, "The supply chain has been short. I do know a few of the warehouses just started getting stuff in like this week, they’ve been pretty, pretty slim ever since 4th of July.”

So, with New Years Eve just being a couple days away, do not wait until December 31st to buy your fireworks. Typically, that's the day that I'll buy all of my fireworks, as typically there are still many to go around and I love waiting until the last second to do anything. That won't fly this year, because if you wait too late, there may not be anything left to buy.
