One year I watched a family member gift his wife one of the worst items ever. I remember we all watched and were mortified when he not only gifted her the gift she clearly didn't want but proceeded to dig himself in a hole.

Let me explain, (I will refrain from using names because this poor man has suffered enough.) The husband thought his wife would love to use an InstantPot since he had seen so many women rave about them on Facebook. His wife hates cooking and does not spend much time in the kitchen. This man thought he could make her fall in love with cooking by buying her one of the latest kitchen gadgets. So we have that established right? She hates cooking, he wished she'd love cooking.

Okay, back to the action in the living room on Christmas morning. All the presents have been opened and the kids are running wild with all their new gifts and the husband runs out to his truck to grab her present. While he's out grabbing her gift she mentions that he has known how much she was been wanting a Louis Vuitton bag. He walks into the packed living room with all of us watching and walks up to her with an unwrapped InstaPot box.

We all eagerly watched her open the box thinking the InstaPot box was a joke to throw her off. Well, much to everyone's dismay, she was gifted an InstantPot. Her husband proceeded to say things like "Maybe you'll like cooking now." and "You said they were cool, I thought that meant you wanted one."

Let's not make these mistakes this year. Let's plan accordingly and actually gift someone something they will use. We asked Shreveport-Bossier to share the worst gifts you can gift someone and here is what they came up with.

Avoid gifting someone these types of Christmas gifts at all costs.
