Why Louisiana Was Just Named Least Happy Of All States
How could their findings be anywhere near correct?
Louisiana was just declared in an annual study by Wallethub as the least happy of all the states.
That can't be right can it? This is the Sportsman's Paradise; the home of Mardi Gras.
We eat crawfish six months out of the year; we have Tony's and Community Coffee. What could we be "unhappy" about?
Chip Lupo, Wallethub analyst says of the study:
“In addition to pursuing your passions, having a good work-life balance and maintaining an emotional support network, another key way to boost your happiness is living in the right place. The happiest states are those that provide above-average quality of life in a wide variety of areas, from strong state economies and high quality physical and mental health care to adequate amounts of leisure time and good weather.”
To determine which were the "happiest", Wallethub looked into each state's combination of economic, emotional, physical and social health, and examined thirty key metrics ranging from the depression rate and the share of adults feeling productive to income growth and the unemployment rate.
And according to their findings, Louisiana is at the bottom of the heap.
Hawaii was the country's happiness leader posting a number one ranking in Emotional and Physical Well-Being, number three in Community and Environment and number thirty-one in Work Environment.
Conversely, Louisiana was the overall least happy ranking forty-ninth in both Emotional and Physical Well-Being and Work Environment and ranking as number forty in Community Environment.
Louisiana also ranked #47 for "Adequate Sleep Rate", tied for #45th for "Most Work Hours" and was #48 for "Divorce."
Looks like we just need to knock off early from work, tap more naps, and remind our spouse every day just how much we love them. See; problem solved!
