Louisiana People Say They Hate Winter And Here’s Why
Yesterday's heavy rains will soon usher in some much cooler temperatures for the Arklatex.
According to The Weather Channel's 10 Day Forecast, by tomorrow night, things turn much cooler with overnight lows in the lower 40's to possibly even down into the upper 30's.
However, even though Thanksgiving is only a little over a week away, it's really not looking much like winter around here and for lots of us, that's a good thing.
The first day of Winter 2024 will be here on Saturday, December 21 and according to The Farmer's Almanac, we'll likely see a mild, wet winter here.
Again, that's a good thing. Now, don't get me wrong. I do enjoy the cold weather for deer hunting purposes, but that's the only thing I like about it, and I have determined I'm certainly not alone in my disdain for winter.
I also love watching all the Alaskan shows on The History Channel. "Life Below Zero", "The Last Alaskans", "Mountain Men." Yeah, they've got me hooked, but I don't want to live there.
While they have me considering the possibilities of an "Off Grid" primitive lifestyle, I can only marvel at those who do it in the temperatures these people endure. Not this boy! Nope! If it gets below 70, I'm looking for a jacket and a fireplace.
Contrary to those who would say, "you can put more clothes on, but there are laws against taking too many off," it's not a question of what's legal, but what's lethal. A lot of us can tolerate 100 degrees way better than 50 degrees.
In an article from The Sun they listed the things people hate most about winter and I've discovered that these are the exact things we hate most about it around here.
