Urgent! Traffic Delays on Youree Drive Begin Today

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is beginning a project today that could make traffic on Youree Drive in Shreveport even worse than normal.

Anyone who frequently uses Youree Drive (LA 1) through Shreveport knows that only Airline Drive in Bossier City can compare to the traffic delays and for the next couple of days, Youree Drive could get even trickier.

The LaDOTD has issued a notice that there will be intermittent lane closures to both East and Westbound Regal Drive from it's intersection with Youree Drive (LA 1)

Effective today, Monday, February 27, from 6:00 am through Wednesday, March 1, at 6:00 am, according to the DOTD:

• Regal Drive traffic will be required to make a right turn only at the intersection.
• North and Southbound Youree Drive traffic will not be permitted to turn left at the Regal Drive intersection

This closure is necessary to allow contractors to replace the cross drain pipe.

As with all projects, this work will be performed weather permitting, so dates or the length of the closure could be changed due to weather related issues.
