If you're a fan of Olympic Volleyball, Bossier City was the place to be this weekend. There was a round-robin tournament at the CenturyLink Center where 4 teams were battling it out for a spot in the 2020 Olympic games in Tokyo.

After the dust settled and all was said and done, the U.S. Women's team punched their ticket to Tokyo. Despite being ranked 3rd in the world, it wasn't exactly an easy path to victory. The U.S. handily beat Argentina in the first round. But, they were almost upset by Bulgaria in the second round. The U.S. Women had to come from behind to win the match up and ultimately win the tournament.

This is a big first step for Team USA. The team has medaled in the last three Olympic games: winning two silver medals and one bronze. But, the U.S. Team has their goals set much higher this time around. The USA is looking to secure their first ever Gold Medal and say that anything else would be a disappointment.

The Women's Volleyball team is the latest group to secure a spot at the 2020 games. The U.S.  women’s basketball, men’s rugby sevens, women’s rugby sevens, women’s softball and women’s water polo have all qualified so far.
