U.S. Post Office Rules Children May Not Be Sent By Parcel Post
U.S. Post Office Rules Children May Not Be Sent By Parcel Post. If you were around on June 14, 1920, that was one of the headlines you read in the paper. The US Postal Service actually had to pass that law on this date, June 13, 1920.
Course, you know what that means...Sometime, prior to this date, somebody in a Post Office somewhere, looked over to a co-worker and said, "I swear I hear something in this box." I wonder what it takes to make you want to "mail" your kids? Since it was summer, I guess the kids were out of school and somebody had just really gotten sick of the phone calls to work...."he keeps looking at me"....or "there's nothing to eat"..."nothing to do"....you know the drill. So, just in case you ever thought you'd have the mailman haul the kids off, think again. 91 years ago today, he quit doing that. I wonder if the same law applies to the dummies in the fast food drive up windows? Well, that's another story for another day...
