Two Shreveport teens are behind bars in connection with a robbery at Columbia Park Monday afternoon.

The victims told police they were inside their vehicle, when they were accosted by four people who physically assaulted and robbed them. They said the encounter began when they were approached by two white males, one of whom asked to use their phone.

One of the suspects allegedly struck one of the victims in the face, knocking him to the ground and running off on foot. The teens were then robbed of their cell phones and other personal items by two black males. Those two fled the scene in a black Pontiac coupe.

Information gathered by detectives led them to a home in the 5700 block of McAlpine Street in west Shreveport. There, they saw two men exit the home and drive off in the car described as the one used during the Columbia Park robbery. Officers pulled the car over at Cleveland and Jewella, and found items taken in the robbery inside the car.

Police have charged 17-year-olds Santana Smith and Gabreon Green with one count of first degree robbery each. The weapon believed to have been used in the crime was found to be a replica of an actual handgun.

The two white male suspects haven't been identified yet. The investigation continues.
