An Incredible Ride Ends: Final Sale Announced for Local Icon
For longer than a lot of people in the Arklatex have even been alive, one business has proudly served the Shreveport/Bossier area with some of the finest western wear and boots in the whole state of Louisiana.

Sadly, it was just announced that after 55 years, Topps Western World would be closing its doors forever.
Topps was always one of the important stops to make the week of any big concert or the arrival of a championship rodeo so that fans could be dressed in the finest western wear around. Evidently that need is no longer pressing.

Taking to social media Sunday afternoon, Topps made known their intentions of closing this integral part of Bossier City's retail landscape.
In the announcement, Topps wrote that "It’s been an incredible ride, and ultimately we would love to see Topps stay open forever, but we know that’s not reality. Topps has been an institution in Bossier City since 1970. What’s carried us on so long are all of you valued and loyal customers who have shopped at Topps for over half a century. We will miss you all so much!"
Customers are encouraged to stop by this Thursday, October 23 at 10:00 am for what they call "a retirement sale to end all sales!"
If former owner and Topps creator, Bubba Reeves, were still alive, he would hate to see his creation go, but the way the staff is handling this would make him extremely proud.
While Topps Western World is nearing its final days, the staff next door at Topps Trailers wants you to know they aren't going anywhere.
Also using social media to spread the news, Topps Trailers wrote, "Please rest assured that TOPPS TRAILER SALES AND SERVICE REMAINS OPEN and ready to serve you and your trailer needs. We will continue to provide the same quality, reliable, dependable trailer sales, parts, service, and repair needs you’ve come to expect with the same folks you’ve grown to trust – without interruption."
