The One Thing I Miss the Most During This Pandemic
You know those videos you took when you were at a concert of you singing at the top of your lungs that you swore you'd never watch again? Well, I caved, I watched mine again and there's no nice way of putting it but man this sucks. No, not just my singing in the clip, it sucks that there is not a concert in my near future.
I miss concerts like a madwoman. There were some months where I was going to two concerts a month. If there wasn't a big concert at the Centurylink Center, I would make my way to The Stage at Silverstar. If there wasn't live music in the Ark-La-Tex I'd make my way to Central Texas for some Texas Country music.
There was never a shortage of live music before COVID-19 took, did I take it for granted? I think I did in a way. I didn't enjoy a concert to the fullest. I always left before the last song, once I knew the artist was almost done with their set, I rounded up my crew and shot for the door. I hated getting stuck in the parking lot.
If I was asked to bring a band on stage for an event, I would watch the concert side stage instead of in the crowd, let me just say, concerts are 10 times more fun in the crowd. I once again would leave the concert early so I didn't get stuck in the parking lot.
I have made a promise to myself. The next concert that I am lucky enough to attend, I will not leave before the last song is played. I will be the last one out. I'll attend a concert alone instead of not going because I don't have anyone to join me. I promise to treat every concert like the beautiful once in a lifetime experience that it is.
I hope concerts miss me as much as I miss them.
