Texas Company Recalls 50 Tons of Catfish
Before you chow down on a delicious plate full of delicious fried or blackened catfish, you might want to check where it came from. If you got it from Louisiana, it's probably OK. If it came from Texas, not so much.
Fulton Seafood Inc. of Houston is recalling 50 tons of the delicious bottom-feeders, sold in 60-pound cardboard boxes labeled "River Catfish Wild USA." Apparently, the catfish was distributed without being inspected. The Food Safety and Inspection Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reports that the fish was labeled as produced between Jan. 1, 2018, and Feb. 21, 2019. According to US News and World Report, no adverse reactions to consuming these products have been confirmed.
Customers who have purchased the questionable fish are urged not to consume it (obviously). The USDA is suggesting you throw it away or return it to the place of purchase.
