Teen Pleads Guilty to Barksdale Airman’s Murder

Alonzo Wilson, one of the teens accused of shooting and killing Barksdale Airman Tech Sgt. Joshua Kidd, has pleaded guilty to his part in the crime.

Wilson's trial was scheduled to start this morning in Benton, but the teen, now 16, pleaded guilty to the charge of 2nd Degree Murder. Wilson was prosecuted and sentenced as an adult. He was sentenced to 50 years in prison without the benefit of probation or parole or suspension of sentence.

As part of his plea deal, the teen was also required to testify to the facts of the case. During his testimony, Wilson claimed that Jareona Crosby, the other suspect in the murder, was the actual shooter. Crosby denies that claim.

Bossier DA Shuyler Marvin and investigators have accused Crosby of the being the one that pulled the trigger.

Crosby is set to go to trial for her alleged part in the homicide on March 23rd.

Kidd was killed outside of his home in Bossier City's GreenAcres Place subdivision September 25, 2018. Both Wilson's and Crosby's DNA was found at the scene and were accused of shooting Kidd after he caught the teens attempting to break into his car.
