Teen Drowns in DeSoto Parish
Tragedy in DeSoto Parish as we kick off the summer. A teenager has drowned while on an outing with friends.
Shortly after 12:30 Monday, DeSoto Deputies were called to a possible accidental drowning at the river front in Logansport. Deputies talked to several young people who had been swimming together in the Sabine River when one of the boys went under water and did not resurface.
Search and Rescue teams from the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office and DeSoto Fire District 1 responded to the location. Divers were able to recover a body from the river. The victim has been identified as a 15 year old male juvenile. Sheriff Jayson Richardson asks that you please keep the family and friends of the teenager in your thoughts and prayers for the foreseeable future.
