After heavy rains in the region over the last few weeks, the Red River appears high in Shreveport. But how close is it to flooding?

The Red River continues to rise as storms surround our region. The Red at Shreveport is expected to climb to 31 feet by Tuesday. The Red will likely remain at that level until Thursday.

The river is at 29.25 feet which is below flood stage of 30ft, but the high water on the Red is still causing problems along the riverfront in Shreveport and Bossier.

We certainly had great weather for Thanksgiving and Black Friday shopping, but the rain is here and it looks like it's not going anywhere any time soon.

The Bossier Sheriff's Substation on Arthur Ray Teague Parkway is back open in south Bossier Parish.

The cleanup on the riverfront continues since the June flooding on the Red River. Piles of sand are being removed from Riverview Park and other areas.

SBA loans are still available for Shreveport-Bossier and ArklaTex flood victims.

The federal government has approved Louisiana's request for a disaster declaration for the Red River flooding that caused damage across a half-dozen parishes in the last month.

National Weather Service forecasters have changed their prediction on the Red River's crest.

The Red River at Shreveport is at 30 feet today which is flood stage. It's expected to rise gradually over the next few days and crest Wednesday.
