When Steven Knight of the US Army was assigned a "security detail", we're almost positive he never knew that one day he'd be assigned to protecting country music superstar, Brantley Gilbert. Well that's exactly what happened and Brantley nominated Steven this week as our Kiss Country Service Member of the Week...

Each week Kiss Country salutes another member of the United States Armed Forces as our Service Member of the Week.  These service members can be active duty but they don't have to be.  They can be retired, some might have even passed away.  And it doesn't matter when they served.  We just want to hear your story about them and we'd love to have a picture.

Our Kiss Country Service Member of the Week paid the ultimate price for the United States.  We get his story from his close friend Jamie Douglas.

This week's Kiss Country Service Member of the Week is Seaman Cody Bass of the United States Navy.  Cody just returned home last night and no one is more excited for his return than his fiancé Maria Siau.  Maria submitted Cody's name and we are only too happy to recognize his efforts.

We get this week's story of our Kiss Country Service Member of the Week from a daughter who looks at her father with an enviable adoration and respect.  She is Kaylee Remedes and her father is U.S. Air Force Retired Ken Smith.
