The 2012 American Country Awards were Monday night (Dec. 10), and while the show has improved each year in the three since its introduction to Fox, there is still some room for growth. The support from superstars like Jason Aldean and Lady Antebellum proves the show is being embraced by the country music community. With a few tweaks -- some major, some minor -- it could be received with open arms

Luke Brian and Miranda Lambert were the big winners last night as far as awards go however as far as fashion, Miranda…not so much.

Carrie Underwood has to be enjoying the 2011 American Country Awards. She’s picked up three Telecasters thus far and hasn’t had to change her outfit once. The blonde country singer seemed genuinely humbled when a presenter announced her name for the second time, and she didn’t leave the stage without giving her husband’s hockey teammates something to tease him about.

The American Country Awards were held Monday night on Fox and while the audio quality of the performances was markedly better than many other awards shows, and our own Hirsch Coliseum got a nice shout out from Trace Adkins when he stated that seeing Alabama perform there was the greatest concert he ever saw, many of the skits were almost embarrassing.

Pistol Annies — comprised of Ashley Monroe, Angaleena Presley and Miranda Lambert — helped mix up the typicality’s of the 2011 American Country Awards by performing their debut single, ‘Hell on Heels.’
