It’s the moment every food lover in the Ark-La-Tex has been waiting for, Taco Wars 2026 is officially almost here.

As the region's largest celebration of all things tortilla and spice, this year’s festival is shaping up to be the biggest one yet. We have a massive gallery below featuring the 13 local taquerias that are stepping into the ring to battle for ultimate taco glory.

How to Navigate Taco Wars

Before you dive into the tacos, here is a quick "pro-tip" guide on how to handle the day like a seasoned veteran:

Step 1: Get Your Tickets. Remember, this is a ticket-only event for food and drinks. Tickets are $1 each (available via cash or card), and most tacos range from 2 to 5 tickets. Margaritas and sodas are also on the ticket menu, so stock up early!

Step 2: The Salsa Strategy. Don't forget to grab your free Salsa Voting Token. You can taste all the salsas for free, and your token helps one lucky vendor walk away with a $500 cash prize.

Step 3: The "Best Taco" Crown. While you vote for the salsa, a panel of guest judges from across the South will be busy deciding who wins Best Taco. To keep things fair, none of the judges are from Shreveport, ensuring the win is based purely on flavor.

Taco Wars 2026 officially takes over the historic Shreveport Municipal Auditorium on May 2nd from 11 AM to 8 PM. While the tacos are the stars of the show, the event is designed for the whole family to enjoy.

Inside the auditorium, families can take a break from the heat and participate in free arts and crafts activities, adding an extra layer of fun to the already vibrant, family-friendly atmosphere.
