Traffic Challenge Coming For Bossier City Road Monday Night
Bossier City residents of Tiburon and the many other neighborhoods north of I-220 on Swan Lake Road will have a near "Tetris" style puzzle to solve trying to make their way to I-220 this coming Monday night.
According to an announcement from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, this coming Monday night, December 9, both lanes of Swan Lake Road in the southbound direction will be closed at the I-220 interchange in Bossier City.
DOTD advises that the total southbound road closure is scheduled to take place from approximately 9:00 pm to 5:00 am, and is necessary to allow a contractor to replace the traffic camera mounted on I-220 at this location.
The northbound direction of Swan Lake Road will not be affected by this work.
Suggested Alternate Route
Southbound traffic on Swan Lake Road will be forced onto I-220 westbound, detoured off at the Airline Drive interchange, back onto I-220 eastbound, and back to the Swan Lake Road exit.
As with all projects of this nature, DOTD states that this work will be done "Weather Permitting" and that inclement weather could cause delays, extensions or any other modifications of the days/hours of the scheduled work.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
