Suspected Porch Pirate Arrested in Shreveport
A woman suspected of stealing packages from the front porches of several Shreveport homes has been arrested by Shreveport police.
Local police got several calls about the theft of Christmas packages from neighborhoods across the city. Detectives began investigating these thefts including interviewing residents and viewing many video clips of the alleged thefts.
38-year-old Melissa Griffin now faces 8 counts of theft. Griffin's boyfriend, 48-year-old Jason Rogers has also been charged. He had an outstanding warrant for convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
Detectives executed a search warrant at Griffin’s home and were able to locate numerous reported stolen items. Several of the items seized are now being returned to the victims.
Both Griffin and Rogers were booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
