A Shreveport Postal Worker was murdered this weekend, and police have arrested a suspect in the case.

52-year-old Antonio Williams was shot in the 1100 block of Dudley Drive around 11am on June 22nd. Williams was taken to Ochsner LSU Health, where he later died from his wounds. Within hours, authorities were able to arrest their suspect, 32-year-old Michel Gentry.

After his arrest, details of Gentry's extensive arrest record started coming out. His arrest record dates back to 2007, and including drug possession, theft, and gun charges.

This morning, US District Attorney David Joseph told KEEL News that his office will prosecute Gentry on Federal Charges. Those exact charges have not been determined, but Joseph says he will prosecute the case personally. You can see his comments below.

Gentry is currently being held on state charges, but Joseph added that if it appears he will be able to get out of custody, his office will bring him in. Joseph advised that it might be slower to bring the federal charges, but once the charges a brought, the federal system will move faster than the state justice system.
