
Suspect Arrested In Hit & Run That Injured Child In Shreveport

The Shreveport Police Department has announced the arrest of the suspected driver in a hit and run accident that injured a child.
Police believe that Mantrevious Henderson was driving an SUV that hit a child in west Shreveport on May 5th. It happened just before 4pm on Jewella near Silver Pine Boulevard.
The young girl was getting off a school bus that had lights flashing and stop signs out. Police say the girl was struck by a silver SUV, and thrown in the air. When first responders arrived, they found the 12-year-old laying in the roadway. The child was rushed to a local hospital with broken bones.
The Shreveport Police Department Crash Investigation Unit say the driver of the SUV, now identified as Henderson, stopped briefly and exited the SUV at the scene. Witnesses were able to get photos of the driver, which police believe to be Henderson.
Henderson has been arrested and charged with felony Hit & Run.
