These days Americans are a bit more stressed than usual. Silly of us to think that once the election was over and we would have vaccines readily available all of our stress would be gone. This time last year many of us were struggling with our sleep schedules because of our dramatic changes in life caused by the coronavirus. Little did we know COVID-19 would flip our lives upside down.

Just because the vaccines are being distributed doesn't mean that life is all good and back to normal. Some of us are still dealing with the financial damages that Covid caused. Personally, I am still struggling with sleep. I started a new health journey and I thought that sleep would come easy. The truth is, ever since coronavirus swept through the world, I have struggled with sleep. I thought that a year later I would have it all figured out.

I am struggling with taking melatonin to fall asleep. Yes, it helps me fall asleep, however, I am exhausted driving into work. I have come to realize that being very sleepy in the morning isn't worth it. I need an alternative to sleep aide medicine.

The time change is upon us. How will we go to bed? Insomniacs swear by the 4-7-8 Method, some folks promise it'll have you catching z's in under 3 minutes.

It's called the 4-7-8 Method and comes from celebrity doctor Andrew Weil, who called it the "single best method that I've found for dealing with getting back to sleep". All you do is inhale through your nose for four seconds, hold that breath for seven seconds, and slowly exhale it out for eight seconds. Keep doing that and before long you'll be asleep. This is way better than depending on melatonin to help you get a good night's sleep.
