Stevi Jellum Is Latest Caught in the Act Recipient

Though things didn't start that way, Stevi Jellum has certainly got an admirer, and after meeting her on the radio this morning, I'm nearly certain she has lots more who think she hung the moon!

When Elizabeth Watkins was only a teenager, Stevi came into her life, and truth be told, that relationship had rocky beginnings, but as time has gone by, Elizabeth is now one of Stevi's biggest fans.

It's Stevi's heart, compassion and willingness to serve that we salute today and we're tickled to name Stevi this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

I felt like I needed to share how special my sister in law is. Stevi Jellum came into my life when I was only 17 years old. Back then I was not sure what to think of her considering my brother was struggling to manage being a single parent and mending a broken heart. I was being the overprotective sister and kept my guard up. However, Stevi quickly became someone I admired from then on. Without hesitation she stepped into the stepmom role- no questions asked, no doubts in her mind. She loved my niece and nephew like her own- from throwing birthday parties, to volunteering at school functions, and even doing the really difficult things stepparents have to do. She always handled it with grace. I’ve seen the many tears she’s cried- happy and sad tears. I never understood how hard the stepparent role was until I myself became one. It was then I lea ned on my sister in law Stevi, now more than ever. She’s been my best friend, my go to for step mom advice, my helper when I do birthday parties for my kids. She manages working full time, kids, now her granddaughter, volunteering in the community, and managing my brother which is a full time job in itself . I hope Stevi realizes everyday how vital of a role she plays in many peoples lives, mine included. And that she also realizes how special, how strong, and how lucky we are to have her in our life. She’s the best mom, stepmom and friend I know. I hope I can be half over the mother and step mother that she is.
