Reps from the state Department of Education and the Recovery School District will stop in Shreveport to hold a public meeting Tuesday night to talk about ways to improve struggling schools.

The meeting is Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Peaceful Rest Missionary Baptist Church on St. Vincent Avenue in Shreveport.

Linwood Charter School will be one of the local schools discussed during the meeting. Linwood is now under state control. Education Department leaders are expected to make recommendations about the future of other local schools to the state Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) at the March 7th meeting.

If you want to talk about the future of Caddo Schools, you might want to attend Tuesday's meeting.

State Education Superintendent John White and Recovery School District Superintendent Patrick Dobard will be on hand to answer questions and talk about the future of local schools.

Caddo Parish has 66 schools. 15 of them have letter grades of "F" while 22 others score "D's".
