If you live in Bossier and are about to make some macaroni and cheese on the stove - stop!

Due to some much needed fire hydrant repairs in the area, workers have had to turn the water on and off again in some key neighborhoods.  Whenever that happens, there is a slight danger of contamination in the water lines that feed the hydrant system and your houses faucets.

According to the ArkLaTex Homepage, the affected areas are:

  • Pine Haven Ln., south of Dogwood Tr.
  • Edgewood Dr., south of Dogwood Tr.
  • Wood Hill Ln.
  • Woodhue Cir.
  • Loriwood Dr.
  • Hollow Bluff Dr.
  • Beaverwood Cir.
  • Oakside Dr.
  • South Oakside Dr.
  • Doe Ridge Dr.
  • South Crest Dr.
  • Oak Thicket in the Oak Thicket Subdivision

Water samples from the area have been taken and sent to the Louisiana Department of Health Lab for analysis.  In the mean time, Bossier Parish Consolidated Waterworks/Sewerage District 1 officials are asking residents on these streets to boil their water for at least 60 seconds before you cook, drink, making ice or brush your teeth with it.

The advisory is in effect until further notice.
