Mayor Adrian Perkins and Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator announced this afternoon during a joint news conference with Caddo Parish Officials that Shreveport's Government Plaza will be shut down moving forward. According to Mayor Perkins, someone that works at Government Plaza on the 8th floor has been afflicted by COVID-19.

At this time, the Sheriff says that Government Plaza will be shut down for the rest of the week. During the shutdown, the building will be sanitized. Sheriff Prator says that all critical services will continue on during the shut down and the building, if all goes as planned, will be re-opened on Monday.

Dr. Martha Whyte says that everyone is safe and nobody that is currently in the building is at risk.
