Mardi Gras season is really hitting its full stride in the Shreveport and Bossier City area. Parades have already started to roll in the streets of Shreveport, Bal events have been taking place, and King Cakes can be found all over the cities.

To help celebrate the Mardi Gras season, Shreveport is going to get a blast of Mardi Gras for all to see. The Bakowski Bridge of Lights (Texas Street Bridge) will go Mardi Gras thanks to Cosse & Silmon Orthodontics and Raising Cane's.

On February 1st, 2023 at 6:30pm, the bridge will get coated in purple, green, and gold lights to celebrate Mardi Gras season in Shreveport. The lights will remain in Mardi Gras mode through Fat Tuesday. Local Krewe royalty are set to be on-site as the lighting takes place at the bridge.

In addition to helping bring more Mardi Gras flair to Shreveport, the sponsorships from Cosse & Silmon Orthodontics and Raising Cane's will be helping to support youth educational programs in Shreveport. Part of the sponsorships will help a joint program between Sci-Port and the Shreveport Regional Arts Council that teaches students how to operate the software that controls the lights used on the Texas Street Bridge. So far the program has had over 300 local students participate, with 35 of them becoming certified with Pharos Design 2 Software, which controls the LEDs on the bridge.

If you love Mardi Gras, make sure to check out the event. Or at least take a trip over the bridge after the lights are switched, and get a burst of Mardi Gras thanks to Cosse & Silmon Orthodontics and Raising Cane's!
